Carla Restivo was born on August 30, 1988 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy.
She is a professional freelance Saxophone Player (Alto and Soprano), Composer and Music Educator. She started studying classical saxophone when she was 17 years old and at the age of 23 she obtained a Diploma on Classical Saxophone at the Conservatory of Music of Palermo “ Vincenzo Bellini”.
She obtained also a bachelor degree in Philosophy at the Universitá degli Studi di Palermo and a Master degree in Jazz Saxophone cum laude at the Conservatory of Music of Palermo “ Vincenzo Bellini”.
Carla has participated in several Music Competitions winning prizes in all of them, including being honored receiving a scholarship to study at the Berklee College of Music during the “Umbria Jazz 2015”.
She won the 1st prizes on: SolMusic 2014, Concorso nazionale Benedetto Albanese 2014, Nanouk Summer Contest.
She won the 2nd prizes on the Tuscia in Jazz European Award 2014 playing her original compositions.
