- What are the key areas in which you learned new skills/information about technology this semester?
Podcast! Absolutely podcast and screen flow! I didn’t know how create my own podcast and I ever had this desire. In my opinion this is an awesome way to integrate technology into a music teaching experience. Students will have always available the materials discussed in class and this could be also a way to develop their interest in creating their own project!
Weebly has been the most useful discovery for me! It is very simple to use and organize and it allows organizing your “image” and combining in it your educator role and your experiences/projects as a musician together.
- What are the key areas in which you increased your knowledge about integrating technology into your teaching?
In my opinion today technology cannot be absent from a lesson organization because all our students will be constantly in contact with mobile devices and website. The websites we saw and studied during the class period could be an interesting place to improve our students skills in a funny way but those will absolutely help students that need a different “language” to express in the best way possible their opinion and maybe through technology they could be able to work on the same “language level” of their classmates.
- Of all the topics we addressed this semester, which one (or more) would you still like to learn more about?
I’d like to work more on podcast and how we could introduce it in class as a class project. I’d like to know more how could I organize in the best way possible the work behind a screencast project: I was not so able to combine the timing of video (actions) and verbal speeches so at the end I’ve tried to fix my script on the video rushing a lot on the verbal description.
- How would you describe your attitude toward technology now compared to being of the semester?
I feel more confortable now. I thought I’ve never been able to create project such as podcast or screencast. Despite my language difficulties, that that took me a long time working on the podcast and screencast project
